Metal Guide

Platinum

Rarest and Purest of Precious metals. Used in jewelry since the turn of the past century, became especially popular during the Edwardian period because its malleable character made it a natural for the intricate and lacy work style of the day. Platinum is frequently used in the finest jewelry and to set the most valuable gems because it's more workable and easier to move the prongs or setting around the stone, thereby reducing the risk of accidental damage to it.

14kt White or Yellow Gold

Gold is one of the world's most precious metals. It is so soft and workable that one ounce can be stretched into a wire five miles long, or hammered into a sheet so thin that it could cover a hundred square feet. It is one of our rarest metals, and since pure gold doesn't rust or corrode, it can last forever. Gold is the most popular metal used for jewelry today. The simple gold wedding band probably accounts for more of the world's gold than any other single type of jewelry.

Titanium

Titanium is better than all other conventional materials. It is far stronger and harder. Therefore it wears better and doesn't gouge, mar easily, or deform. Titanium is completely hypoallergenic and will not irritate even the most sensitive skin. Titanium is more resistant and has the highest strength to weight ratio of ANY known element. In jewelry applications, titanium's strength allows for design capabilities that were otherwise impossible. Tension set rings made with titanium provide maximum security for the stone. Titanium's light weight translates to comfort. It is more affordable than gold or platinum and offers an attractive white-metal look when used alone, or a straw yellow look when alloyed with gold.

Tungsten

Discover the amazing look and durability of Tungsten Carbide wedding bands. In an extraordinary process, Tungsten and Carbide powders are forged together at 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit to form rings that are virtually indestructible and scratch proof. Then they are polished with a diamond compound, resulting in a polish and shine that will last forever. Tungsten Carbide is the perfect combination of unbelievable strength with style and comfort.
